Community Involvement

The Power of Giving Back

Brent taking pride in being involved in his local community by coaching for the YMCA and volunteering at children's schools.

"Work is not just about your job and getting a pay check, but there has to be a balance. Be passionate about your work, but even more passionate about being involved with your family and the people that help your family learn and grow."

Our Commitment

As a business, we help people secure their futures and reach for their dreams. We hope that all children battling cancer have the same opportunity to reach their full potential. Northwestern Mutual launched its Childhood Cancer Program in 2012 to accelerate the search for cures for childhood cancer and to provide support to families battling the disease. The Northwestern Mutual Childhood Cancer Program's committed to:

  • Helping accelerate the search for a cure and better treatments for childhood cancer
  • Spreading awareness of the disease and the need for more research funding
  • Providing support to children and their families that are battling the disease
  • Supporting survivors struggling with long-term effects of treatment

Childhood cancer has a grown-up problem. It's the leading cause of death for children under age 19 but receives the least amount of funding compared to adult cancers. The Northwestern Mutual Foundation is dedicated to helping fund childhood cancer research. We support parents and families to achieve what they want most for their kids: a life filled with awkward first dances, complaints about homework and parental embarrasment. To learn more, visit
